Intent - Why are we teaching this?
We believe that music is a fundamental aspect of expression and a vital part of every child's education. Through music, children can develop their creativity, and communication skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures and traditions.
Implementation - How is this being taught in the classroom?
We follow the Charanga Musical School Scheme of Work, which allows our students to develop their musical skills and knowledge through a range of engaging and interactive lessons. Our goal is to foster creativity, self-expression, and a sense of achievement among our students, and to encourage them to explore different genres and styles of music. We believe that a strong music education is not only beneficial for academic and personal development, but also contributes to the cultural enrichment of our school community.

Impact - What is the effect?

By following the Charanga Musical School Scheme of Work, we have been able to provide our students with a high-quality music education that is engaging, interactive, and fun. One of the key benefits of the Charanga curriculum is that it is designed to support the musical development of every child, regardless of their prior experience or ability level. The scheme provides a clear progression of skills and knowledge that builds on what children have learned in previous lessons and ensures that they are making continuous progress. The Charanga curriculum aims to broaden our students' musical horizons by exposing them to a range of styles and genres from around the world. This has not only enriched their musical experiences but has also fostered a greater understanding and appreciation of music from around the world.
